    Company

    Marine Weather Intelligence is founded in Auray, Brittany

    Christian Dumard and Basile Rochut co-found Marine Weather Intelligence, combining 35+ years of ocean racing routing expertise with AI and decision science to build the next generation of maritime weather intelligence.

    Award

    Octo'Pousse, IFREMER Innovation Challenge winner

    Marine Weather Intelligence wins the IFREMER Octo'Pousse Innovation Challenge, securing a €250k investment from Ifremer for our R&D programme. IFREMER is both a research partner and a key investor in Marine Weather Intelligence's capital.

    Incubation

    Marine Weather Intelligence joins ESA-BIC, the European Space Agency incubator

    The integration of ESA-BIC represents a key milestone in Marine Weather Intelligence's progress. For 2 years, the team works with CNES laboratory researchers on two areas: data qualification models, and satellite image analysis for security alerts.

    Marine Weather Intelligence and PONANT, the French leader in exploration cruises, announce their collaboration around a data-driven approach to optimise vessel routing using AI. Supported by Région Bretagne via the Inno Expé Numérique programme.

    MWI Yachts officially launched

    MWI Yachts launches at the start of 2025, bringing AI-powered, expert-backed weather routing to yacht owners, charter fleets, and superyachts. The first maritime routing solution to integrate meteorological uncertainty and live expert support in a single intuitive platform.

    Marine Weather Intelligence joins ZEBOX

    Selected among 13 startups worldwide for the ZEBOX Spring Cohort 2025, the CMA CGM Group accelerator, and the only one in maritime routing.

    Marine Weather Intelligence is awarded the Category III: Ocean Intelligence & Autonomous Systems prize at BlueInvest 2025 in Brussels, an initiative by the European Commission promoting innovation and investment in the blue economy.

    Seaway7 becomes a regular partner

    Marine Weather Intelligence supports the entire fleet of Seaway7, the offshore wind installation specialist: cable lay vessels, heavy lift vessels, transportation vessels and a jack-up installation vessel.

    MWI Shipping officially presented at Euromaritime 2026

    Marine Weather Intelligence officially presents MWI Shipping at Euromaritime 2026, already active on 60+ vessels, the platform delivers advanced route optimisation, threshold exceedance anticipation and satellite-enhanced hazard alerts.

    Marine Weather Intelligence joins the PIER71 Smart Port Challenge in Singapore

    Selected among 23 startups for the 10-week SPC Accelerate programme in Singapore, to build our presence in Asia.

    i-Lab innovation award for the WUMRO project

    Awarded by Bpifrance and France 2030 for WUMRO, a routing project integrating weather uncertainty, carried out with Sorbonne University through 2028.

International Maritime Organisation

The IMO has committed to reducing pollutant emissions by at least 70% by 2040, with the goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions from shipping by 2050.

The GreenVoyage 2050 Project

Aims to reduce maritime CO₂ emissions by 10 to 50% by 2030 through speed management, directly aligned with the weather-optimised routing that Marine Weather Intelligence delivers.
